Description
Summary:This exploratory study aims to look at how undergraduates think about the family and issues around it. Through in-depth interviews, this research will find out how undergraduates think about the importance of the family, their current experiences with their families and their aspirations for their future family. General trends from the responses from the interviews will be identified and analysed. In particular, this paper will look at the respondents’ conceptualisation of the family, the link between family relationships and practices, the respondents’ perceived ideal family and the impact of structural conditions on the family. The findings from this research will serve to provide an insight to the perceptions of undergraduates on the family, as well as the factors that influence their perceptions.
