| Summary: | The overarching aim of this research would be to examine how internet pornography consumption ties to the creation, modification and performance of sexual scripts. My research will be asking the question "how does pornography affect the way young Singaporean men think about and create Sexual identities" and through answering the question, develop a typology for the relationship between pornographic consumption and sexual behaviour. A series of qualitative interviews were conducted among young Singaporean men aged between 21 and 33. The research revealed that 1) Porn is a resource for learning and exploring sexual scripts 2) Porn as a media is so diverse (and easily accessible) that its effects are equally diverse 3) Porn’s complicated effects are mediated by equally complicated social realities. |
