Singapore has resorted to high amounts of food imports to meet the demand for food. This makes Singapore extremely susceptible to global economic, political, social and environmental forces. A small group of Singaporeans have started vertical farming as a means to increase Singapore’s food security, and at the same time, doing so in a sustainable manner. This project aims to explore how the technologies used in vertical farming is a sustainable method of food production, and the benefits that society gets from vertical farming. |
