Each project is a complex entity, with numerous project participants, design, project management issues, project delivery system and the controlling factors of schedule and budget. The complexity of the projects leads to specialization, or fragmentation, of the industry. Due to the fragmentation and specialization of the construction industry, project parties generally work independently with limited interaction.
