Description
Summary:High specific surface area nanosphere MnOx and nanorod NiCo2O4 has been fabricated on nickel foam and used as an electrode for supercapacitors with Chinese ink acting as a dispersion agent. Both samples are prepared via microwave-technology hydrothermal synthesis which involves chemical co-precipitation and post-annealing. The MnOx and NiCo2O4 are characterized using FESEM & XRD. The electrochemical performances ofMnOx and NiCo2O4 are evaluated in three electrode cell with cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge and discharge and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to study the parameters that affect the specific capacitance. The excellent electrochemical performance is due to the high specific area of MnOx and NiCo2O4 grown from the microwave-assisted process.
