Description
Summary:The increased in ageing population and unhealthy lifestyle have caused a spike in the numbers of chronic diseases reported in Singapore. Chronic diseases are long-term medical conditions that are generally progressive, which are also one of the mains causes to premature adult death. One of the common chronic diseases that affect Singaporean is Hypertension, also commonly known as High Blood Pressure. According to the Singapore National Health Survey (1998), 27.3% of Singaporeans between the ages of 30 and 69 years suffered from hypertension [1]. Hypertension can lead to severe medical complications such as heart and renal failure. Therefore, the constant monitoring of blood pressure and need to seek early medical advice are most important to reduce the risk of such medical condition. The proposed system, Life, is a mobile health care monitoring and appointment booking application developed for Android Applications. This application not only allows monitoring and tracking of blood pressure, it also enables mobile user to seek early medical advice through booking of appointment at their convenience.
