Description
Summary:The students in School of Computer Engineering (SCE) are required to take the Final Year Project (FYP). The students’ FYP will be examined and assessed by the selected staff in SCE, also known as examiners. The allocation of examiners to grade the students is conducted with the current FYP Examiner Allocation (FEA) system, which was implemented in 2007. Due to the lack of maintenance for several years, the system encounters several issues such as compatibility. This project is a joint effort with another FYP student who has been allocated with the project, FYP Examiner Allocation System Improvement – Part 2 (SCE15-0277). The purpose of this project is to improve on some components of the current FEA system and to design and implement a new FEA system. The objective of implementing the new FEA system is to counter all the issues and limitations encountered in the current FEA system. In addition, the new FEA system aims to replace the current FEA system and be a user-friendly and compatible system to meet the users’ needs. Requirements gathering, architecture design, database design, User Interface (UI) design and optimising allocation algorithms was performed to achieve the objective of the new FEA system.
