Therefore, Location Aware System using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is a project set out to research and explore the use BLE for a location aware system for indoor use. The system set-up includes Bluetooth BLE broadcasters and a mobile application to explore the possibility of creating an “indoor GPS”. Several BLE broadcasters have been set-up to broadcast advertisement messages. The mobile application is then programmed to pick up the messages broadcasted by the BLE broadcasters and to make use of the information in the messages to track and locate the user of the mobile application. The results from this project have shown that the system is promising and could potentially be implemented in the future.
