Summary: | The world we live in is the result of knowledge transferred and built up from civilizations that existed centuries ago. It is important that we continue to pass on knowledge so that the human civilization can continue to exist for more centuries to come. The earliest method of knowledge transfer began with verbal communications. After centuries of evolution and clever use of the knowledge gained, humans have created scientific methods for the sole purpose of transferring knowledge.
In this project, an eLearning program developed as a web application will attempt to apply Robert Gagné’s theory of the nine events of instructions onto the creation of teaching materials.
The web application was developed using the Agile software development methodology to adopt to changing requirements and to provide timely prototypes for evaluation. The graphical user interface uses the Bootstrap framework to provide a responsive design that provides similar user experience across different devices with varying screen size.
Apart from the web application, a usability test was conducted to assess the sentiments from the target user groups when presented with a prototype of the web application. While the students involved in the usability test were not particularly excited about the lesson material, the overall design of the web application had received positive sentiments from the participants of the usability test. |
