Another way was to make a personal call to the hospital or clinic preferred to make an appointment. However, as the technology progresses an easier and more convenient way was developed, medical appointment booking was readily available online. Although such service was already available online, as the technology continues to progress developers looked into the ease of use of portable digital devices such as mobile phones. Smart phones became a necessity to most people. As years pass by there has been a rapid growth of demand of smart phone technologies. Simple tasks can now be done with just the use of a smart phone with connection to a wireless internet connection. This applies to booking a medical appointment. Healthcare institutions opt to develop a mobile version of their online appointment booking system. The purpose of this final year project is to develop a mobile application that allows the users to make a new appointment as well as manage his/her own appointments easily. The mobile application developed will be installed on a smart phone device. The said smart phone must be connected to a wireless network connection to be able to access data stored in the server. The mobile application is successfully developed and implemented on an Android platform. It allows the users to manage his/her own appointments as well as personal information. A web based system version of the application was developed as well.
