Description
Summary:This project records my efforts to merge two art-making mediums – Painting and photography. Though they are tools in creating art, they are often seen to be of different categorizations. The former is viewed as a traditional technique, and the latter as a machine that represents a new era of technology. Photography changes how people see, paint, and/or make art. Painting will always be seen as a foundation to how people compose images. The two mediums have their own unique characteristics. In my final works, I will incorporate their individual qualities and merge them onto a single canvas. With these two mediums, I have been exploring the topic of Death. It is a universal subject that can relate to almost everyone. An experience of losing someone one loved will have a devastating impact on how he/she perceives the rest of his/her life. The uncertainty and therefore the fear that accompany death can never be resolved, though religious explanations have been deduced.
