Summary:Living and letting live involves tolerating the opinions and behaviour of others so that they will similarly tolerate your own. It is also an idiom in which expresses the idea that all should be able to live their lives in the manner they want to, regardless of what other may think of them – we should live the life we choose and allow others to do the same. The role of living and letting live is played in conflict situations, where two opposing concerns, needs, interest or opinions meet. To live and let live is a series of moving-images set out to investigate the modes of handling conflicting situations, particularly: accommodating, avoiding and compromising. While these three modes each play a part in living and letting live, avoiding and compromising are closer to being more completed versions of the achievement. However, as compromising has become generally recognized as more prosocial than avoiding, an avoider is often pressurized to take part in what is misunderstood as a compromisation – it is actually an accommodation that is imposed on the avoider. So when a "compromisation" like this fails to be established, which party do we blame?
