Description
Summary:Baozha! is a short hand-drawn animated film following the funny and serious struggles of a guardian deity, Baozha. The film aims to represent the human side of us that desires to be seen or heard, and be significant in some way. Much like we often experienced, Baozha feels that her given duty does not reciprocate in a way that gives her the appreciation she needs. Design choices such as the look of the characters, environments and acting were meticulously made to ensure that the audience can easily connect with Baozha. Traditionally animated, Baozha! is one of many 2D animated shorts produced in the history of Animation. As such, the film explores within the medium itself, bringing a distinctive Singaporean culture into the story. This Final Year Project (FYP) report documents the making of Baozha! from its initial conception to the final product. It focuses on the production team’s artistic and technical challenges faced, as well as the solutions the team arrived at.
