Description
Summary:The Mystery Guild Presents: The Locke Diaries is a re-imagining of the Greco-Roman myth of the twins, Castor and Pollux. Influenced by postmodern literature and its attendant reimagining of storytelling possibilities, the project combines open-ended dual narratives with surreal illustrations that extrapolate the experience of the immortal Pollux in the aftermath of Castor’s death. Accompanying the central story of Pollux is a deck of fortune-telling cards in the tradition of the tarot that creates an interactive dimension to interpreting the narrative content through card-reading. This project marries illustration, book design and card deck design with research into Greco-Roman mythology, endeavouring to draw readers into this larger interest area with an experimental illustrated narrative.
