Description
Summary:In this Thesis, we study the design and development of Android Application interfaced with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) enabled device for elderly living care. As the ageing population increases, the need for elder care becomes a potentially concerned issue nowadays. While most of the eldercare products concentrate on helping the seniors with mobility and fitness such as exercise and fitness equipment, we focus on the possibility of integrating eldercare assistive functions into the smart phone application. Such functions included in this project are reminding the elderly of their daily medication schedules and alerting the family member when the elderly falls down suddenly. The use of smart phone is popular nowadays especially for communication purpose and for personal assistive applications available on smart phones. At the same time, the number of elderly using smart phones is also increased. This application in this project serves as a reminder as well as an auto alert media for fall detection. For elderly living alone, they can be independent with the help of the smart phone application to remind them of the medications and alert the family member when the elderly suddenly falls down at home or at certain place.
