Rereading violence as a response to social change in Achebe’s things fall apart and Coetzee’s disgrace

Violence is a theme that is synonymous with African history and this is replicated in African literature as well. This can be attributed to the volatile shift in the social and political landscapes of many of the African nations throughout the course of history.
