Description
Summary:The main objective of this project was to develop a low cost hearing assistive device. The device had to be able to split the input audio into various frequency spectrums which was similar to the frequency used in a hearing test. The gain of each frequency bandwidth was able to be controlled independently according to the user profile. In this project, finite impulse response were use to construct the bandwidth of the band pass filter and testing was done to find each frequency bandwidth cut off point. The gain of the each frequency band was controlled through the mixer as it has individual channel for each frequency. The algorithm to combine all the individual functions was written to allow it to work as a hearing assistive device. In addition, a casing was done to house all the circuits required for device to work. The testing that was carried out in both a sound-proof room and noisy environment had been proven to be successful.
