AM is denote as a method which a module is being build up by using 3D CAD design data, deposit materials layer by layer. AM proposal many tactical advantages, for example building of complex parts internally and externally of the parts geometries. And the capability to build functional part in small size of lot to end user customization and also the ability to repair costly parts from aerospace and other industries. In the commercially industry of product design, 3D printing is used to print parts which is then examine for it ergonomic, functionality and last aesthetics. Cutting the cost to produce prototype and time as well. In this project, the measurement for ring and square will conducted. First part of the project was to build a home base 3D printer which is based on an open source “Focus” design for experiment using powder based technique. Unfortunately, we encounter error in the C programming, unable to proceed with study of parts. So for second part of the research, experimented parts will have printed out by selective laser melting (SLM) and study was conducted between the parameter of laser power and scan speed. The thickness measurement of fabricated ring and square will conducted and result are discussed.
