Experimentation of a novel sound system to enhanced listening for hearing impaired
This project existed to design and develop a portable electronic device, plug and play speakers, which is used to enhance hearing experience based on individual hearing profile to help people with hearing impaired or the elderly to hear better. This development complements the function of a portable...

This development complements the function of a portable device with its ability to tune the gain of five different frequency bandpass filters to aid the hearing impaired to hear and understand clearly what is happening around his/her environment. Detailed analysis was being carried out by experimenting the gain of the different bandpass filters by using a sound level meter to measure the gain in decibels in an anechoic chamber using two different speakers. Structural support was designed and built to cater for the two different speakers to ensure consistency in the experiment.
