Description
Summary:“Hokkien Me” is an animated short film aimed to encourage and inspire the Generation Y and young adults to learn and preserve the diminishing dialects across all nationalities. The film explores the use of minimalist style and abstract interpretation of the childhood memories that I had with my late grandmother. It is designed differently from the conventional approach of introducing and explaining the importance of dialects and how they are diminishing due to modernization. Many of us failed to realize the importance of these dialects and its impacts on our relationship with our family and the people around us. Therefore, the purpose of the film is not just to preserve dialects and educate on its importance but also to highlight how it can help to maintain and improve relationships.
