Description
Summary:In recent years, the needs for renewable resources have increase due to environmental issues like global warming as well as the shortage of natural resources like fossil fuels and coals. With the increase of trends in exploring new renewable sources, thermoelectric generator emerged as a promising green technology due to its advantage on converting waste heat energy to electrical energy. The thermoelectric generator does not require any rotating and moving therefore it can be implemented on various areas as long as heat energy is present. Due to its low efficiency of this technology with comparison with other renewable technology, thermoelectric technology was not commonly use in the market. However, there are still advantages that can be explore on this technology. This report covers the concept of thermoelectric generator and heat flow transfer as well as the relevant application of such technology used in various areas. This report shall consist of result from different experiments on the amount of energy harvest with different type of insulation and configuration. An energy harvesting system will be build and capable to harvest energy heat from the waste heat produce by the hot water and convert into electrical energy that can be stored.
