Description
Summary:As the world becomes more advanced, people are consistently looking for ways to make our life more convenient. One of the areas would be made more intelligent is transportation. Using Dedicated Short-Range Communication, vehicles can share information such as speed, position and latitude with other neighbouring vehicles or Road Side Units (RSU). In the process, a large amount of data will be transmitted and shared. Hence, we can make use of the big data collected from the vehicles and apply techniques such as machine learning to discover some useful features from the data. The knowledge involved in this project is distributed over a wide range of issues. They are transport engineering, big data, machine learning, matlab programming, Cohda Wireless box's operation theory and Linux operation system. In this project, we will define a congestion problem, use an algorithm to find the extra time used for a vehicle to drive pass a congestion and simulate the data transmitting process between a Road Side Unit and a On Board Unit (MK 5). This project hopes achieve all the defined goals in the end.
