Description
Summary:This report discusses about automating the process of sun detection, tracking as well as analysis of images captured by wide angle high resolution sky imaging systems (WAHRSIS) located in NTU as part of a Whole Sky Imagers based project. In this portion of the project, we aim to find out if misalignment between WAHRSIS and the real world is present. At the same time, we will study the correlation of solar radiation recorded by weather stations with the images captured by WAHRSIS and the programme written for sun detection. With the correlation made with the solar radiation measurements recorded by the weather station and images captured, it will aid in the process for modelling the solar radiation which is affected by the sun. The presence of images can also help in predicting the cloud movement as compared to solar radiation readings obtained from weather stations which only gives information of the current luminance.
