Summary: | Infrastructure assets have been growing remarkably in Asia as Asian cities have become the center of the world’s urbanization trend and many Asian cities have achieved explosive growth in the past few decades. For the purpose of assessing the infrastructure asset exposure of Asian cities in the future, three simple forecasting models were developed and assessed for projecting electricity consumption in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area till year 2050. The three models are power law scaling, multiple regression analysis and extended power law scaling. Very good outcomes were achieved using only population size and gross regional product. The approach adopted in this report could be feasible for similar studies with limited data accessibility. |
