Description
Summary:For the idea of efficiently managing the resources of a taxi company to be possible, an understanding of how the taxis are being deployed is of great importance; thus, an analysis of the company’s taxis’ GPS data is needed. In the case of this particular project, an organisation based in Singapore by the name of LTA has kindly provided taxis GPS data throughout the month of August 2010 for the team to find objectives to complete. Algorithms were run on Matlab. Research had been done to understand what analyzation and how it could be done with GPS data of the taxis. The analysation being done for this particular project to understand the common and individual patterns for the weekdays and weekends; from this analysation, prediction for missing GPS data due to slight errors by the sensors or the triangulation of the GPS receiver location could be possible.
