Summary: | Nowadays, with the increasing popularity of DC compatible loads, how to distribute clean energy such as solar photovoltaic and renewable energy sources have been recently attracted more interest, calling for the demand to develop power converters such as boost and buck converter that accelerate DC microgrid applications.
With efficient management of distributed clean and renewable energy sources, battery storages, power converters and loads, DC microgrids has become significant popular in low voltage distribution systems.
Solar photovoltaic source known as one of the renewable energy, which is commonly set as power sources at the output connecting with boost converters to facilitate active voltage regulation in DC microgrids. With the support of battery storage elements, it solves the problem of irregular solar irradiation throughout the daytime. It will guarantee a constant energy supply even for the energy deficit in the absence of solar energy.
This study is to replace the previous research based on MATLAB simulation algorithm to realize the modular DC microgrid functions based on DSP platform.
The principle of the MATLAB algorithm include three algorithms, monitoring bas algorithms, maximum power tracking algorithm and multi-modes control algorithm.
Firstly, the monitoring bus algorithm was executed on DC to DC converter for example boost converter to control the output voltage to a desired value. After that, the maximum power tracking algorithm was executed to get the maximum power from a solar photovoltaic. Multi-modes control algorithm is used to converter the mode between monitoring bas algorithm and maximum power tracking algorithm. The last but not least, the integration of all algorithms, is to form multi-modes DC microgrid, which was designed based on DSP platform by using C language. |
