These accidents could not be avoided completely but it could be reduced or prevented by having a system to notify the motorist on the road about the road condition ahead of them. This system could help to reduce the chances of accident to happen due to the previous accident as motorist might have the tendency to change lane abruptly as the motorist was not aware of the accident ahead of them. Singapore is moving to the Smart Nation phase which includes Smart Vehicles. One method to keep motorist updated with the road condition is by the using the Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication Technology. This system allows the On Board Unit to communicate to other vehicles and keep the motorist updated on the road condition. Other than that, many other possible function it might have like notifying the motorist if there is a collision about to occur. The main purpose of this project is to test the new framework that has been created for the test bed in campus and getting the device in the vehicle to relay the message down to other vehicles on the road.
