Summary: | As the world and technology advances, the use for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for various application increased in popularity. The initial application for UAV was meant for military warfare such as bombing and reconnaissance. However, in the current society UAVs has been used in many other different area such as civil and commercial applications, especially the Quadcopter. The Quadcopter is designed in such a way that it has great stability during flight which make it popular among UAVs. In this project, a Quadcopter will be built from scratch with the integration of a microcontroller and various components to be able to overcome different obstacles. The microcontroller is being interface with the onboard flight controller with other component such as sensors, communication devices and motors to control the flight of the UAV. Sensors such as ultrasonic sensor, magnetometer, gyroscope will be used to obtain different parameter and these data will be used to develop algorithm and user interface for better flight control. With other implemented features and functions, the Quadcopter was built to take part in the Singapore Amazing Flying Machine Competition (SAFMC) 2016 and showcase its capability of overcoming the obstacle course to achieve mission success. |
