Description
Summary:With the advancing technology improvement in the areas of artificial intelligence, driverless cars and autonomous vehicles no longer live in the movies. In Singapore, ST Engineering Group has the initiative to deploy its own autonomous vehicles as a public service in a few key locations. This has prompted the project to develop a simulation tool that can replicate the specific scenarios that ST Engineering has proposed. The simulation tool aims to provide insights on the benefits aroused from autonomous vehicle deployment while also provide a way to maximize efficiency of the network without physical deployment. In this part of the project, the simulation concerns with incorporating autonomous vehicles in airport site to transport passengers and luggage between terminals and aircrafts. The development of the simulation went through several phases with different approaches to the problem. Despite the problems surfaced throughout the project, the final tool is able to simulate a realistic scenario and provide intuitive insight of how to handle the situation.
