Summary: | 3D concrete printing is an innovative construction method that has the potential to be the next big thing that might revolutionize the basis of construction in the construction industry with the ability to optimize construction time, cost, design flexibility, error reduction and environmental aspects. In 3D printing, concrete mortar is extruded through a nozzle to build structural components layer by layer, therefore it is crucial to investigate and understand the fresh and rheological properties of concrete as these properties will prove to be vital to the foundation of 3D printing so as to ensure that the concrete mortar can be worked with.
This paper presents the effect due to a change in the proportion of fine aggregates, mineral admixtures, chemical admixtures and water on the fresh and rheological properties of 3D printing concrete. |
