Description
Summary:The advancement in technologies has enabled engineers to design, implement and most importantly upgrade existing technologies to improve its efficiency as well as the quality of each individual’s life. Additionally, the introduction of Surface Mount Light Emitting Diodes (LED) and Sensors has also allowed further improvements towards energy efficient building and more options for cutting edge lighting systems. The purpose of this project is to analyse, design and implement a Smart Lighting Control System. The primary objective is to first provide automation as well as conventional controls and the secondary objective is to improve the flexibility of the control system by means of using mobile phones as a portable remote control. Through research and studying the time schedules of lectures, the project aims to design and construct a prototype integrated with a small scale model to demonstrate the concept of Smart Lighting System in Lecture theatres which can also be applied to other building locations such as corridors and tutorial rooms.
