In the early days, home automation began for the purpose of labour saving purposes – e.g.
washing machines. However, in the recent years, with the advancement in mobile, wireless,
and network technology – also called Internet of Things - home automation technology has
leaped forward. Not only it is labour saving but time saving as well, now home automation
allows activities, appliances, and other features in a home to be done from our fingertips
through our mobile devices (e.g. Google’s Nest).
The NAO robot is one of the most advanced robot accessible to customers today. Compared
to other home automation technology, NAO has advantages and features that will give it
an edge over other home automation technologies. In this project, I have explored and
discovered different ways this robot can be integrated in home automation technology. |
