Summary: | Higher standard of living and ease of air travel has led to an increase in air traffic density. Mental workload of air traffic controllers increases with air traffic density and many automation aids have been implemented with the aim of reducing controllers’ workload. This experiment made use of a new EEG-based workload evaluation method to find out the effects of display aids and the reliability of Conflict Resolution Aids on mental workload. This new method of workload evaluation was found to be as reliable as NASA-TLX and it was found that the automation aids used in this experiment do not reduce controllers’ workload. |
