Description
Summary:Stroke is infamous over the years and millions of people lose the ability to live a normal life. In order to live a normal life again will mean to rely on very expensive and bulky medical device that many people especially in the developing world couldn’t afford it. The most basic kind of rehabilitation training will be to train the patient with the exoskeleton in the hospital. However, due to the lack of development of the land in developing countries such as Indonesia, it will take the patient travelling several miles just to get to the hospital for their rehabilitation training that in turn affect their progress. In addition, there is a shortage of trained professional to take care of the patients. There were numerous exoskeletons developed in the recent years that help patient to recover their ability to lead a normal life again. It ranges from providing rehabilitation training to exoskeleton that is wearable to aid with their daily activities. However, most exoskeleton is too bulky for the patients to wear and it post discomfort to the patient. furthermore, there is limitation in catering to the needs of the patient as most of the upper limb exoskeleton has only a maximum of 3 degree of freedom and very few has 7 degree of freedom. This project aims to design and achieve 7 degree of freedom upper limb exoskeleton that is considerably cheaper that make use of the cheapest material, plus it is not too bulky to wear it.
