Summary:Water makes up 71% of the earth’s surface. Water is essential to human life and existence. However, a water crisis is looming upon us which men have chosen to turn a blind eye. Water which we all have taken for granted over the years will soon face a shortage. What will become of mankind when one day water is no longer available? It is about time world leaders unite to address the global water challenges. The world is currently going through several water problems which many of us are unaware of. In this report, we will study and analyze some of the water challenges facing the world today. After which we will take an in depth look in Singapore’s water source and water treatment methods. We will further zoom in and focus on the use of nanotechnology in water treatment and the great potential it has. Several nanotechnology water treatment products will be discussed and analysed. A particular nanotechnology product known as the lifefilta bottle will be used in an experiment to analyze the filtering capabilities and impact it can have in providing clean water for countries that have inadequate access to clean drinking water.
