Modelling and optimization of EMI filter for power converter
This dissertation focuses on EMI filter modelling, optimization and design. Some basic fundamentals of EMl noise and filter design are introduced. A baseline design has been done successfully through several approaches found in the literatures. The method to approach the baseline filter is used a...

The method to approach the baseline filter is used as a reference to understand the related filter design and filter topology. Then some basic passive component models are presented. Common mode (CM) choke is the most important and complex component in the EMI filter. So it is meaningful to do some optimization on the choke. A method to model the CM choke to get a more accurate model is presented. Based on the proposed model, some experiments are conducted. The experiment results and calculations are presented and then the parasitic parameters are extracted. This dissertation focuses on EMI filter modelling, optimization and design. Some basic
fundamentals of EMl noise and filter design are introduced. A baseline design has been
done successfully through several approaches found in the literatures. The method to
approach the baseline filter is used as a reference to understand the related filter design
and filter topology. Then some basic passive component models are presented. Common
mode (CM) choke is the most important and complex component in the EMI filter. So it
is meaningful to do some optimization on the choke. A method to model the CM choke
to get a more accurate model is presented. Based on the proposed model, some
experiments are conducted. The experiment results and calculations are presented and
then the parasitic parameters are extracted. It is of great help for EMI filter design to get
an accurate CM choke model to ensure the EMI filter is well designed. |
