Study of mode converters based on specialty fibers

This dissertation is aimed to study converting the mode from fundamental mode to higher order modes and there are two main parts. The design of the conversion method mode linearly polarized LP01 to LP02 using RCF as medium in optical fiber communication is the first part. The details of the structu...

The design of the conversion method mode linearly polarized LP01 to LP02 using RCF as medium in optical fiber communication is the first part. The details of the structure and characteristics were analyzed in various types of fibers simulation of the LP01 and LP02 modes in SMF, MMF, FMF and RCF were performed respectively. The principle of RCF for mode conversion was introduced and the realization method for the various parameters including shape, size, RI and thickness of RCF were also presented in details. The second part was talking about fiber sensor as one of the applications in mode conversion. The design and implementation of this fiber sensor were introduced by software simulation and experiment devices. The sensitivity of the sensor was obtained by changing temperature and bending pressure.
