“人间洞察者”之讽喻性书写 ：林高作品研究 = The allegorical writing of “the observer” : an insight into Lin Gao’s fictional works

1965 年始，新加坡成为独立共和国，“新华文学”开始独立发展。其后，环境都市化、经济商业化、教育西化等社会转型议题，为作家们所关注。当时一批新生代作家开始萌芽，他们在 50、60 年代出生，见证了共和国的成长，而且作为“末代华校生”，他们不仅承受着语言教育的心理压力，更经历了新加坡 80 年代急速进入“现代化”社会的变革过程。这种种皆使他们“创作活跃，富有创新，使新华小说有所突破”。林高（原名：林汉精，1949 年—）是其中的佼佼者。林高于 70 年代开始写作，其散文与微型小说的题材总与现实社会不可分割，从文化忧患、华文教育困境，至人性反讽、社会批判，皆曾流淌于其笔底。以揶揄嘲讽的寓言手法书写各种社会议题，更是林高作品的特色之一，其嘲讽之对象，遍及社会、文化及人性诸象，值得进一步研讨。本文将以林高作品为主要探讨对象，借鉴“讽喻性书写”之各论述作为立论基础，拟从文化忧患、华文教育、人性与社会批判的角度，进一步探悉其作品核心，并试图从中探索林高“讽喻性书写”之意涵，粗略勾勒出林高的主要思维特色与关怀面向。本文亦讨论林高作品中的另一主题，即山水游记，其中的创作意涵及其与“讽喻性书写”之内在联系。After gaining independence in 1965, “Singapore Chinese Literature” began to develop. Subsequently, social issues such as urbanization, economic commercialization, westernization in education and etc., provided new topics for the Singapore writers. During that time, there was a surge of young writers who were born in the 1950s and 60s. They grew up together with Singapore and were the last few to have attended Chinese schools. This group of young writers were affected by both the issues surrounding local Chinese language and Chinese education and the rapid modernization of society in the 1980s. These challenges motivated them to engage actively in writing, resulting in a breakthrough in Singapore Chinese literatures. Local writer Lin Gao (Lin Han Jing, 1949- ) is one of them. Lin Gao started to write in the 1970s and his proses and fictions always revolve around the society with topics ranging from concerns towards Chinese language and culture to criticism on humanity and society. In addition, one feature of Lin Gao’s works would be his allegorical style of writing, where he addressed the problems of social, cultural and humanity in an ironic tone. The thesis focuses on studying Lin Gao’s fictional works to give an overview of “allegorical writing” in the literacy context and by integrating several topics in his work, including culture, language and social criticism, to further explore the meaning of his allegorical writing style and outline his unique perspective and humanistic concerns. In addition, this thesis also intends to discuss Lin Gao’s fictional works on nature and traveling and to analyse their relationship with his practice of “allegorical writing”.
