Description
Summary:Inspired by the recently developed theory on Laplacian-of-Gaussian edge, He Ying (2008) and his colleagues developed a theory which extracts the Laplacian lines of 3D objects. Most of the previous 3D line extraction methods are either view independent or computational expensive, which are not very suitable for real time rendering. Compared to these algorithms, the complex computation work in Laplacian line extraction algorithm is done before run time rendering. This project applies He’s theory on Laplacian lines and implements it using demo examples. Additionally, this paper proves the efficiency of Laplacian line extraction algorithm by measuring its real time rendering time.
