This shows the endless creativity of humans as much as the limitless possibilities of light painting. In the past, light painting is a very tedious and time consuming activity as camera used to be film based. This means that photographers would have to wait till they developed their films before they know what kind of pictures they got. The invention of digital camera has helped in making light painting to be less tedious and time consuming, by producing an immediate picture after a shot is taken. Many trials and errors are still needed in order to get the picture desired, especially for people who are not so experienced in photography. Therefore, more could be done to leverage on technology to help make light painting even easier. This project has successfully built on an existing robot system to allow users to take 3D light painting pictures with minimal effort. Users do not choose from a set of preloaded images to take pictures with but can instead enter words and/or sentences to take pictures with. This together with the ability to choose different fonts and colours open up a lot more possibilities. Light painting has been around since 1889, and still people continue to do light painting. This
shows the endless creativity of humans as much as the limitless possibilities of light painting.
In the past, light painting is a very tedious and time consuming activity as camera used to be
film based. This means that photographers would have to wait till they developed their films
before they know what kind of pictures they got. The invention of digital camera has helped in
making light painting to be less tedious and time consuming, by producing an immediate
picture after a shot is taken. Many trials and errors are still needed in order to get the picture
desired, especially for people who are not so experienced in photography. Therefore, more
could be done to leverage on technology to help make light painting even easier.
This project has successfully built on an existing robot system to allow users to take 3D light
painting pictures with minimal effort. Users do not choose from a set of preloaded images to
take pictures with but can instead enter words and/or sentences to take pictures with. This
together with the ability to choose different fonts and colours open up a lot more possibilities. |
