Summary: | During early embryogenesis, vasculature development is essential for the survival of the organism. Semaphorin3E-PlexinD1 (Sema3E-PlexinD1) signaling plays a role in blood vessel growth and patterning. One of its function is to inhibit Notch signaling in stalk cells during tip cell selection in angiogenesis. The ability of Sema3E-PlexinD1 signaling in downregulating Notch signaling leads us to hypothesize that Sema3E-PlexinD1 signaling affects arteriovenous cell fate determination in endothelial cells, through the inhibition of Notch signaling pathway. Hence, this study is the first step of testing this hypothesis by exploring the effects of Sema3E-PlexinD1 signaling on the mRNA expression of the members of the Notch signaling pathway. |
