Although existing solar panel based on photovoltaic (PV) effect has been commercialized successfully for many years, it still suffers stringent trade-off between efficiency and cost, which has not been well addressed to fully replace fossil fuel energy for daily usage. In this project, we plan to develop and compare solar energy harvesting approach, combining optical absorption and vibration energy harvesting which is achieving low cost and high efficiency solar panel. Both the system design and simulations will be conducted in this project.
