In 1959, Yi Shui’s essays were compiled into a collection titled On Issues of the Malaynization of Chinese-Language film. According to his definition, ‘Sri Menanti’ is unlikely a Malaynization film。So what exactly is the nature of the film? How should we discuss it under the Chinese-Language film discourse? This article will discuss on the nature of the film and the development of Singapore Film Scenes.
