Description
Summary:Heritage studies is a recent academic field, gaining traction only in the last 60 years. While many heritage scholars focus their work in relation to the present, this essay uses the historical political situations to show how heritage can be changed. This is by using the La Galigo heritage as the case study, and examining the way it was incorporated and accepted into different areas and why it was the case. This essay focuses on the timeframe of the 17th to 20th century to trace the effect of political situations and context on its change and spread. By doing this, this essay reinforces the idea that heritage is a constant changing process developed not only over time but also over different areas.
