Data was obtained by conducting semi-structured interviews and administering the Lubbens Social Network 6-Point Scale on a diverse group of 15 seniors. Results showed that majority of the elderly maintain their network, instead of building it. Formal networks are found to be effective in aiding the elderly who do not have substantial familial and informal ties. Finally, relevant solutions that may enable the elderly to age successfully are suggested.
