The disease is expected to affect one in 10 people aged 60 years old and above and the number of dementia patients will be doubled in Singapore by the year 2030. Dementia is not just about forgetfulness, it also cripples a person’s ability to take care of themselves, which will cause problems in their everyday life management. These changes in life also leads to severe changes in the patient’s personality [2]. In this project, the author seeks to improve the living standard of the patient by allowing the caregiver to customise care based on patient’s preferences and character. This project is meant to develop an Android system named PEAR which interacts directly with the caregivers. Using this application, the caregivers will slowly understand each patient, and based on the patient’s preference and character, this will help them to prepare a more accurate and beneficial activities for the patients. The main objective is to create a mutual bond between caregivers and patients. The author believe that this will aid in the recovery of the patients. The current method of managing the patient’s information is not efficient and in the event where there is a lack of manpower or an increase in the number of patients, the caregivers would be faced with a heavier workload. Therefore, this mobile application will help to manage the patient’s personalised day to day schedule via an algorithm in a more efficient and dynamic way.
