Blood samples and heart rate were taken at the end of every 3 min while the new device was being worn concurrently to determine the workload (WLT) and heart rate (LTHR) at LT. Results: No significant difference was found between the 4 traditional methods. Only LT4 showed significant correlation with LTBsx (r = .958), while HRD was significantly correlated with HRBsx (r = .947). Bland – Altman plots showed that all data collected by the device were in ± 95% level of agreement with all 4 traditional methods. Conclusion: No ‘gold standard’ for traditional method can be established from the present study. Based on current findings and previous studies, it is suggested that the device may be a reliable and practical option for coaches and athletes seeking to measure WLT and LTHR.
