This project extends the focus of a Smart Home Management System by enabling the
collection of data from sensors and allows monitoring and automation to Smart Home
owners. Through implementation, it replace sensor simulation through proper
infrastructure.
It was all a simulation and this project starts with actual hardware to meet its objectives.
Raspberry Pi 3 takes up the role of a Smart Hub and will serve as network gateway for
all sensors and provides notification should there a need arises. By making use of
existing webpage, it shall be further develop with more pages to allow desirable settings
for Smart Home owners to suit their activities. Indeed, this project takes a step closer in
real life as Singapore are making its way for Smart Homes to citizens. Singtel, has
launched SmartHome service such as home automation through a central smart hub
with cameras and motion sensors. Without a doubt, this design presents a strong
case for development of SmartHome. |
