The Singapore government has put in a lot of effort to tackle the problem of ageing population. However, the fact that the number of elderly is increasing in Singapore does not change. It is our responsibility to take care of the elderly. With the help of rapidly advancing technology, we can develop a health-related system to keep track of the general wellness of the elderly. This project is a web application named eHealthPortal. It serves as a platform to provide personal and health information, as well as keep track the wellness of the elderly. The main functions of this web application include displaying and editing medical information of the elderly, updating the elderly’s social status on the web, displaying the elderly’s daily wellness index and a calendar function which allows family members to suggest events to the elderly. More important functions can be included later if required. As this application is meant for the elderly, the user interface was made as user-friendly and simple as possible. The whole idea of this web application is to make tracking of the elderly’s daily activities, wellness and information more convenient and ease the job of family members and caregivers. Overall, this web application can lessen the burden on the whole society.
