Data analytics is the science of collecting data and analyzing behavioral data and patterns used to enhance productivity and business gain. To catch up with the competitive environment, the newspaper organizations understand that if they capture all the data that streams into their business, they can apply analytics and get significant value of it. We build a real-time data analytics website called AnaGrapher for newspaper media to track their audience’s browsing behavior and uncover any hidden patterns to improve and publish its contents. To draw out possible user requirements and data analytic metrics, we examine a free and open source tool called Open Web Analytics and a commercial tool called Google Analytics in more details. To build AnaGrapher, Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 ASP.NET framework is used, and JavaScript and jQuery is also used to develop the graphical representation of data. Besides, PHP is used to receive data from client’s website and Microsoft SQL Server 2014 is used to store those data. We also point out the problems that we encountered during the implementation phases and solutions to these problems. Finally, to ensure the quality of this project, we discuss about software testing methodology such as black box testing and agile testing that we used in AnaGrapher.
